When blog spam becomes ever bigger issue, you need the right weapon to fight back. In Wordpress, many plugins have emerged to address the problem of comment spam. We’ve tested the following anti-spam plugins that help keep unwanted bots and comments out of the gate.

Akismet - The default spam killer with WP installation. To use it, you need to obtain WP API key to make itwork.

Spam Karma - A very powerful anti-spam tool with rich and flexible configurations. It works well with other additional plugin to extend Karma function.

Bad Behavior - A PHP-based solution for blocking comment spam and the robots which deliver it. Beeping your blog, forum, guestbook, wiki or content management system free of link spam.

Custom Anti-Spam Image Plugin - Help stop comment spam by requesting user enter a text word to verify it’s a real human rather than a bot.

Referrer Bouncer - A simple anti-spammers tool to bounce back referrer spam attempts.

Email Immunizer - Plugin will filter the email addresses within the WP files and convert them into numeric character references to combat the email address harvester.
