Be The First to Leave Comments on Other Blogs

It’s a good marketing practice to leave comments on other blogs. When you have a comment there, your name is linked back to your blog and also you may introduce your blog in the comment contents.
As you have noticed, for post articles, the latest one comes to the top, but for comments, the first comes first right below the post entry. If you are among a few early comments, you are more visible and likely got noticed.
How to get the first? If you subscribe blog feeds from services such as feedburner, you’ll get notice when new articles are posted. Then you can just go there and write comments if time allows.
When commenting, don’t only put simple ones like “nice article”, “good thought”, etc. Put some deep analysis, start a discussion, or ask questions. Be a good participator, not a comment spammer.
It’s OK to include a link to your blog, but not more than one, since many blogs are configured to treat comments with two or more links as spam.
Since most blogging platforms use the rel=”nofollow” attribute for comments, leaving comments on blogs will not help your blogs link popularity rank, but they do drive traffic to your site if you have good comments on the top 5 range.
