There is a little tool in WordPress called bookmarklet which could be very handy when you want to make a quick post about a webpage you are reading. Here’s how to make Bookmarklet work:

Go to admin panel, select Write tab, move to the bottom of this page, you should see a block called “WordPress bookmarklet”. As the instruction said, rich click on the “Press it - …” link and choose “Add to favorites” to create a posting shortcut. What you need to do is to create a bookmark link or whatever your browser call for shortcut. It could be a item in the Firefox Bookmarks list or an icon in the toolbar.

Then when you browse a website and want to post an article about it in your blog, just click the shortcut link, it will take to to your blog’s new post writing panel, add the new post title as the article from the web page you are reading, and add the title phrase in the post content with link back to the article. Quick and easy.

This tool is especially useful if you do a lot of posts that review other blogs. It saves you time to login to your admin panel manually, and saves the time to copy the article title and add link to the source article.

Each bookmarklet goes with one of your blogs. If you have multiple WP sites, you may create a bookmarklet for each site.
